The coronavirus health crisis is already getting serious: closed educational centers, sporting events without an audience, conferences, congresses and appointments, canceled cultures and many empty companies, with their staff working from home.

These restrictive measures have put many citizens on guard, who have doubts, especially about how their working life will work if their company establishes that remote work is imposed.

Are we ready to work remotely? The answer to this question depends on many factors. It depends above all on the infrastructure of the company and how things are set up in it.

What if the company has all its files on a local server?

The problem comes when “the company's working architecture is either a hybrid solution - with things in the cloud and things on the company's local server - or is entirely based locally”. In these cases, you must find a way for them to access the company from home safely, so that your files are not exposed to the vast universe of the Internet.

You could convert to the cloud and make your resources in the public cloud, always -of course- encrypting them and making them private, available only to workers. This infrastructure is the fastest, it could be up and running practically as soon as you hire it.

Even when it comes to equipment, things could get complicated: “With the coronavirus crisis, getting a laptop right now is getting difficult because many companies are buying equipment in case they have to send their people home and also because the industrial stoppage in China affects ”.
